The omniscience of God

Welcome Back Ya’ll !

Understanding the omniscience of God

Understanding the Omniscience of God
Can there really be an omniscient God who and knows everything at all times? According to the Bible, that’s exactly what God can do. Interestingly, the more we learn about physics, the more such an ability of an observer to be everywhere at once not only seems possible, but science is actually proving it.
We can also draw parallels to cloud computing to help us understand the concept of how God can be everywhere and keep a record of our lives.

Dictionary definition

Dictionary definitions: What is omniscience?

The dictionary defines omniscienceas: “The state of knowing everything.” It also defines being omniscient, as “knowing everything” or having the ability to know everything.

What the word of God teaches about God’s omniscience

What the Bible teaches about God’s omniscience

The Bible tells us that God is all-knowing. God knows everything that is happening in the present, everything that has happened in the past, and everything that will happen in the future.

Speaking through the prophet Isaiah

When God spoke through the prophet Isaiah, God said:

“Remember what happened long ago, for I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like Me. I distinguish the end from the beginning, and ancient times from what is still to come, saying: ‘My purpose will be established, and I will accomplish all My good pleasure.’ “– Isaiah 46:9-10

Jesus who is also God spoke through an angel

Jesus, who is also God, spoke through an angel to the apostle John in the book of Revelation, speaking to His omniscience, saying:
“I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.”
– Revelation 22:13

God shows us that He transcends the limitations of time

In both of the above statements, God shows us that he transcends the limitations of time put on human beings who live on earth.

The definition of time changes

However, as you are about to learn physics has now shown us that when you get beyond gravity and the speed of light, the definition of time changes as compared to how time operates on earth.

What science has to say about space and time

What science has to say about space and time

Embracing the idea that time simply doesn’t flow

Modern physicists are now embracing the idea that time doesn’t simply flow, nor is it a linear sequence of events that only moves in one direction. They are starting to believe that time, both past and future, is simply “there.” In this sense, it aligns with the philosophical full view of each eternalism or the block universe theory of time. Physicists are now beginning to question whether time even exists at all, whether it is only a human construct that is all in our heads due to space-time and be gravitational effect experienced on this planet.

They’re starting to believe time is simply there

Einstein’s theory of relativity and space-time

Einstein’s general theory

Einstein’s general theory of relativity found that space and time were interwoven into a single continuum known as space-time.

Einstein  believed  the idea of the force of gravity  has effect on time

Einstein said that events that occur at the same time for one observer could occur at different times for another.
The idea is that the force of gravity has an effect on time, with its pull creating a curve in space-time. Space has three dimensions, and the fourth dimension is time.
Einstein’s theory was that time can run faster or slower depending on how high you are or how fast you are traveling.
In 2010, scientists conducted an experiment to prove Einstein’s theories on time using atomic clocks – which proved to be correct. Another test in 2015 also confirmed Einstein’s theory.
Einstein suggests that there is only one true constant when it comes to time – the speed of light.

No fixed frame of reference in the universe

Therefore, there is no fixed frame of reference in the universe. Everything is moving relative to everything else, thus his theory of relativity.

Everything is moving relative to everything else

God exists beyond space and time

God exists beyond space and time

Physicists speak of the so-called “arrow of time.” In quantum theory, many scientists are beginning to question whether time even exists.

No special time know as the present

According to Einstein’s theories of relativity, they suggest that all moments are equally real and that there is no special time known as “the present.”

God is the exception to space and time

Under these rules then, it confirms what the Bible has already told us – God is the exception to space-time.

God observes from a position outside of the effects of gravity

God observes from a position outside of the effects of gravity. Therefore, time is not linear for God. Not only can God see time in the present in the past – but also in the future.
Interestingly, throughout the Bible, Scripture tells us that God is light. Therefore, if God is light – God may be time itself.

God may be time itself

Science tells us that the speed of light is the only constant. Light moves in all directions at once. Therefore, if God is light, this would easily explain how God can be present everywhere and at the same time.

How does God track everything?

If we think of a modern technology called cloud computing,

If we think of the modern technology called cloud computing

it gives us a good analogy. Cloud computing stores all our digital information in multiple locations outside of us. It records the digital work we do and saves it somewhere else rather than our local machine.

God is keep record of everything we do

The Bible tells us God is keeping a record of everything we do (and for all we know angels may be the ones keeping track – nonetheless it’s getting done.

“As for the rest of the acts of Josiah, along with his deeds of loving devotion according to what is written in the Law of the LORD, and his words, from beginning to end, they are indeed written in the Book of the Kings of Israel and Judah.” 2 Chronicles 35:26-27

Everything each and every human being is doing and even thinking is being recorded.
The Bible tells us that that our deeds are written in the
“book of life,”
Our deeds are written in the
book of life “

(Revelation 20:15, Revelation 13:8), and that these will be considered on the day of judgment.

Today’s  daily message

My goal is to help us begin each and every day with God’s power and glory in our mind and in our heart.
